2017 TechOvation Award Winners

The TechOvation Award was created to recognize and reward technology innovation in the hospitality industry. The contest offered outstanding visibility, provided excellent promotional opportunities and included audience participation through live events at the 2017 HT-NEXT Conference.

The 2017 TechOvation Award results are in. Our top three were selected by a panel of 10 judges, to advance to the final round. After presenting during the final rounds, the rankings were chosen by a live audience vote. For more information, view our press release.

Winner: Angie by Angie Hospitality


Angie is the world's first voice-based guestroom assistant and integrated room-control device, featuring a highly intuitive multi-lingual voice interface that responds to guest/staff requests, and route via SMS/email, call or directly into existing hotel systems. Angie integrates with lighting, thermostat, telephone, TV systems, room service, housekeeping amenities, provides local information and much more. Using robust in-room access points, Angie provides secure, customizable in-room Wi-Fi, allowing all guest devices to seamlessly interoperate.

Finalist: Proximity Identity Manager V2 by Proxce

Proxce provides a proximity based identity management solution. The system allows for a seamless association of different types of guest profiles with location and connected devices (IOT) thus enabling hotels to provide services like mobile check-in and keyless entry to guest rooms. The new Proximity Identity Manager to be released in May will feature advanced rule based configuration where a business user can create and map the experience through an admin panel without technical assistance.


Finalist: STAYCAST by Sonifi


Sonifi's commitment to advancing hospitality technology has led to the launch of an OTT game changer - STAYCAST. STAYCAST enables a better than home experience in which guests can cast content from thousands of apps to their in-room TV using an iOS or Android mobile device as the control. With STAYCAST, guests do not need to enter any personal information into the TV; they simply pair their mobile device to the in-room TV following on-screen instructions.
