HTNG certification for Web Service-based interface specifications operates on a twice-annual cycle.  The following due dates have been established for upcoming releases.  These dates do not apply to non Web Service-based specifications.

Workgroup leaders and participants should pay careful attention to the dates and deliverables outlined below, as time extensions are generally not possible.  Any questions may be directed to the HTNG workgroups mailbox.

• Each workgroup must have a board-approved charter and project plan in place before beginning the specification development process.
• Each deliverable must be posted to the collaboration site by 11:59pm EDT/EST on the due date listed.   The deliverables must minimally meet the requirements designated by HTNG and will be reviewed by HTNG staff for completeness.
• After all deadlines are met and the HTNG staff has finished formatting, the documentation will be released to the HTNG community for a two-week review period during which any and all concerns should be raised.  If major revisions are proposed during this period, one possible outcome is that final release will not occur during the current release cycle.
• Once the review period closes, the workgroup will have time to make any final (minor) changes. The documentation will then proceed to a ratification vote by voting members of the workgroup.  Votes will be open for a minimum of seven (7) days.
• In the event of extensive changes or at HTNG's discretion, general release may be delayed to allow time for final cleanup and formatting.
