Call for Entries for HTNG'S New TechOvation Competition

Hotel Technology Experts to Vote on the Best New Technologies for 2015

CHICAGO – (November 24, 2014) – Hotel Technology Next Generation (HTNG), the membership association that unites the world’s hospitality companies and technology innovators to solve industry challenges, has introduced a new and improved innovation competition, building on its popular Most Innovative Hospitality Technology award. Applications for this year’s competition are now being accepted.

The new TechOvation Award will be more competitive, offer greater visibility, provide expanded PR opportunities and feature live audience participation at HTNG’s 2015 North American Conference in February.

In a qualifying round, entrants will make a five-minute “elevator pitch” before a live audience of conference attendees and investors. A judging panel of senior hospitality IT executives will select three finalists to repeat their presentations in the general session on the next day, where the full audience will pick the winners in a real-time poll.

"The changes we've made for TechOvation will provide attendees with an overview of the latest hospitality technology innovations, and the live voting process will add another element of excitement.”

Industry icon and angel investor Dave Berkus will emcee the sessions. In regard to his role, Dave Berkus said, “The pace of technology change is increasing, and the hotel industry must continually be challenged to provide technology leadership in areas that enhance guest service, increase revenues or decrease costs. The HTNG TechOvation Award is a chance to highlight and encourage innovation that is relevant to both hotel guests and owners.”

In addition to receiving a trophy during the live ceremony at the conference, winning technologies will be featured in articles by media sponsor Hotel Business magazine, announced in an HTNG press release and promoted through HTNG’s website.
