Participate in a Forum or Workgroup
Interested in getting involved in developing industry solutions in collaboration with your peers? There are several ways that you can participate, depending upon your membership status, your role in the industry and your interests.
Join a Workgroup
Is there a workgroup which focuses on a critical need at your hotel company? Or one that focuses on the technology your company produces? If you are interested, complete the Join a Workgroup form and indicate which group applies to you. If you are a member of HTNG, then you can apply to join a workgroup. Note that while most workgroups welcome new participants at any time, acceptance into a workgroup is not automatic and depends largely upon the workgroup's location in the development cycle, the size of the workgroup already, and the knowledge/skillsets of the participants involved. If you are not yet a member of HTNG, we understand that you may want assurance of participation in a workgroup prior to joining; you can still submit this form. We will contact you to help you understand your options and to discuss next steps.
Monitor Progress
Are you interested in keeping up with a workgroups' activity, but unable to actively participate? Complete the Monitor Progress form to be added to the workgroup mailing list(s). You will receive all workgroup e-mails, including meeting notes, draft documents, and other workgroup communications, just as if you were part of the group itself. You can monitor the direction that a workgroup effort is taking in resolving the issues for which they were chartered.
Provide Direction
Hoteliers looking for lighter weight involvement should consider becoming a workgroup's Business Advisor. Business Advisors provide guidance to the workgroup though occassional direction-setting meetings. Add your insight about how a particular challenge should be addressed by the workgroup to provide a viable resolution for hoteliers. You can sign up to Provide Direction through this web form.
Prospective Workgroups
Are you interested in an area of hospitality technology for which there does not appear to be a workgroup? Perhaps you have a technology issue that you think an HTNG workgroup could help address. Our Prospective Workgroups page has information about efforts which are starting to gain traction amongst our members, and also provides space on our web form for you to suggest a new workgroup for us to consider. Note that non-members are invited to participate at this level, prior to the effort becoming a fully chartered workgroup. This helps us to ensure the we have the broadest possible industry input when considering potential issues and solutions; it allows you to participate in the process to assess if you wish to continue on as a member if the workgroup becomes a fully chartered effort.
