HTNG Certification

HTNG's Certification Program is here, and the latest (2008A) version has now been released.  HTNG certification represents a commitment that products meet industry standards of interoperability.  It gives hoteliers the ability to determine in advance whether two products will work together - and if so, which business functions will be supported.

  • Two workgroups have now approved final specifications for key portions of their work.  These specifications have been released to the public domain, and vendors can apply for certification.
  • You can view the public register of certified products here

For full details or to apply for product certification, view the HTNG Certification Website.

Become A Member

HTNG membership provides the opportunity to define, develop, implement, and promote the next generation of hotel technology.  Membership in HTNG is open to any person or organization with an interest in advancing information technology in hospitality.  The HTNG by-laws establish three classes of membership, and one subclass, as follows:

  • Regular Members:  Organizations that actively provide hospitality services to end consumers as a primary business, or individuals currently employed by such organizations.  Only Regular Members are eligible to run for officer and director positions in HTNG.  Membership is per individual ($300 per year) or per company (rates for 2008 are $2,750 per year for the entire company or $1,375 per year for five individuals).

  • Corporate Industry Partner Members:  Organizations who provide technology and/or distribution-related products and/or services to the hospitality industry.  Membership applies to the entire organization. ($2,750 per year standard membership, $5,500 for Platinum membership with enhanced benefits).

  • Industry Partner Members (Reduced Rate):  Service consultants who work in companies (including affiliates) with fewer than five employees are eligible for a reduced-rate individual membership for $300 per year.  This membership is not available to employees of companies who offer technology products or technology-based services.

  • Allied Members:  Individuals whose interest in the industry is fundamentally informational rather than economic, including specifically but not limited to students, academics, media representatives, and representatives of trade organizations; but specifically excluding individuals who qualify for other membership categories.  Membership is $50 per year, and applications subject to approval of HTNG.  Media memberships are complimentary to approved media representatives, and a special student rate of $15 per year applies to full-time students enrolled in accredited hospitality or technology programs.

Membership benefits include:

  • Access to all meeting notes, working papers, and specifications developed by HTNG workgroups, and rights to use all specifications published by HTNG on the same basis as all other HTNG members.

  • For Regular members, Corporate Industry Partner members, and Individual Industry Partner members who joined or last renewed after 15 October 2006, the right to propose, apply for and, participate in workgroups for which you qualify (limited rights may be available for other members).  This right is based on HTNG's workgroup policies, and are not generally available to Allied members, or to Individual Industry Partner members who work for companies with more than five employees.

  • The right to provide feedback to active workgroups in which you are not participating, at defined points in time.

  • For Industry Partners who implement HTNG specifications, equal access with all other Industry Partner members members to promotional opportunities provided by HTNG, such as joint demonstrations at trade-shows.  This benefit is not available to Individual Industry Partner members who work for companies with more than five employees.
