HTNG Certification
HTNG's Certification Program
is here, and the latest (2008A) version has now been

commitment that products meet industry standards of
interoperability. It gives hoteliers the ability
to determine in advance whether two products will work
together - and if so, which business functions will be
supported.
-
Two workgroups have now approved final
specifications for key portions of their work.
These
specifications have been released to the public
domain, and vendors can apply for certification.

You can view the public register of certified

hospitality. The HTNG by-laws establish three
classes of membership, and one subclass, as follows:
-
Regular Members:
Organizations that actively provide hospitality
services to end consumers as a primary business, or
individuals currently employed by such
organizations. Only Regular Members are
eligible to run for officer and director positions
in HTNG. Membership is per individual ($300

per year for the entire company or $1,375 per year
for five individuals).
-

-
Industry Partner Members
(Reduced Rate): Service consultants who work
in companies (including affiliates) with fewer than

individual membership for $300 per year. This
membership is not available to employees of
companies who offer technology products or
technology-based services.
-
Allied Members:
Individuals whose interest in the industry is
fundamentally informational rather than economic,
including specifically but not limited to students,
academics, media representatives, and
representatives of trade organizations; but
specifically excluding individuals who qualify for
other membership categories. Membership is $50
