Driving Tangible
Business Benefits from
SOA - a Journey
P&G is basing its three
target architectures on
a service oriented
architecture approach.
The company is learning
how to leverage SOA
approaches to be more
than a new technology 3
letter acronym, but to
drive speed, agility,
reduced cost, and
improved reliability.
But the message is clear
- this is not an
overnight miracle - you
need to learn your way
and tailor for your
businesses.

Enterprise

Thought Leadership Program Part 7

Many vendors in our industry have started down
the SOA road. HTNG's Thought Leadership
Advisory Council solicited proposals from the
vendor community to brief the conference on
their successes and challenge. In a
"blind" review of seven proposals, they selected
the following two for presentation.
Session 7A: Centrally Hosted
Solutions - SOA-based POS
This session discusses how SOA was successfully
leveraged to build a very scalable food service
POS solution. It details the challenges along
the way and provides advise to others embarking
on the SOA path.
Speaker: T. Paul Armstrong,
Executive VP and CTO, MICROS Systems, Inc.
Session 7B: The Progression
of ASP to SaaS and the Impact of SOA
A unique and experience-based view on the
progression of subscription software through
four levels of maturity, exploring the key
differences in architecture and approach that
have removed customer barriers and created
compelling economic models for both buyers and
suppliers.
