Our association provides many opportunities for industry experts to come together and collaborate on solutions to enhance the deployment of technology. This section provides details on these efforts.

Workgroup Specifics

Our workgroups are dynamic and constantly changing.  To help keep information about them up-to-date, we maintain it on a Wiki.  Click the links or use the pull-down menus above to link to the wiki site for each workgroup, which includes information about the goals, members, outputs, and more for each group. Workgroups are organized by their current life-cycle stage as follows:

Active - Active workgroups are currently meeting to achieve specific goals as stated in their board-approved charter.

Maintenance - These workgroups have completed their chartered goals and are monitoring their outputs to assess whether additional work is needed.

Retired - These workgroups are no longer working or monitoring, but could be rechartered at a future date for revisions or enhancements.

Coordinating Bodies - Each forum has one body that provides structure, synchronization, common resources, or other services that help coordinate workgroup activity.  These are not technically workgroups and operate differently, and you will find their details under their respective forums.

Workgroup & Forum Overview

HTNG facilitates workgroups in order to provide shared solutions for the industry. Forums are larger bodies that provide homes for both members with common interests, and workgroups with related work-product. Potential New Workgroup Efforts

Are you interested in potential new efforts? Our Prospective Workgroups page provides descriptions of, and a registration form so you can participate in, prospective new workgroup efforts. You can also propose an entirely new workgroup idea to address an unmet industry need.

Collaboration Site

HTNG provides a centralized resource for workgroup and forum members to log-in to access materials related to coordination of workgroup and forum efforts.  In addition, the site houses a variety of members-only items such as best practices documents, new or restricted access specifications, event presentations, and more,  If your company is a member and you need credentials to access this system, you must first Enroll under an Existing Corporate Membership.

Forums

Forums provides companies of similar interests with a structure to meet, learn and develop an industry direction. They also provide a home for workgroup efforts through independent efforts around such topics as infrastructure and governance.  For details about the differences between a forum and a workgroup, visit our Forums page. For information about our two forums, choose the Infrastructure and Device Forum if your interests are generally around guest room technologies or hardware, or the Software Forum if they are in areas of software and web services.
